Happy Hollow School Pre-Kindergarten Program
Happy Hollow School Pre-Kindergarten Program Philosophy
Regardless of a child's preschool background, Happy Hollow Pre-Kindergarten is designed to help your child develop a love of learning while continuing to nurture social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development that is well underway. Our teachers help the child develop skills in self-regulation, self-realization, and independent thought and expression. Your child is encouraged to explore and begin to understand the world and people around them. It is in Happy Hollow's Pre-K, and continuing on in kindergarten, that students learn-to-learn in a tangible, practical yet exciting way.
The Happy Hollow Pre-Kindergarten Program introduces children to a wide range of academic topics and learning tools. Ranging from language, science, art, and math in academics to computers, books, the library and creative thinking as tools, the School's pre-k students enter the rest of their academic career prepared and excited about school.

As with our preschool and kindergarten programs, Happy Hollow believes work and play should not be differentiated in the learning process of children, because play is a child's way of learning. As a child uses toys and objects to represent things, he/she begins to understand the symbolic process of reading and writing. Through play, children also develop imagination and powers of concentration. Their thinking capacities and problem-solving skills are strengthened. Our activity-oriented program fosters and supports this natural way of learning.
