Happy Hollow School Parent and Family Resources
Fantastic Area Museums
- Boston Museum of Science
Our kids/family [a Happy Hollow family] love this museum. If you are a member you get free parking for 2 hours too! They have the planetarium and IMAX. They have special exhibits (some better for older kids and/or adults - use your judgement), educational programs, reading programs, and special exhibits. There is a computer lab for ALL ages. The museum is hands-on with lots of things to discover/interact with.
- Ecotarium - A Museum of Science and Nature
Both my kids are former Happy Hollow kids. We recommend The Ecotarium in Worcester as a great place to spend a few hours. It's a science and nature museum that also is home to some animals that couldn't live on their own. The polar bear is [my daughter's] favorite and the Hawk and Eagle are [my son's]. They have a planetarium, a train ride, and many fine exhibits to explore. If you have a Boston Museum of Science membership, you can get in for free. Otherwise, it's $10/adult and $8/child ages 3-18. Under 3 is free.
- Charles River Museum of Industry
An exhibition ranging from a 1,000 pound bell to the latest communications equipment - kids have lots to discover.
- Boston Children's Museum
New renovated and expanded - a great trip to the city to explore.
- Danforth Museum of Art
A nice regional art museum with great kid's programs.
- DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park
The ground of the DeCordova are worth the visit on their own.
