Preschool Newsletter - November, 2007
It’s hard to believe that the holidays are upon us already, and the New Year is just around the corner! We have been very busy learning all about pumpkins, (ask your child where pumpkins come from), the color orange (ask what colors we mixed to get orange!) apples, the leaves changing color and the change in weather, just to name a few things. We will be touching briefly on Native Americans, Pilgrims, things to be thankful for, scarecrows, and our new color will be blue! A great way to reinforce their knowledge of colors is by playing the color game (I’m thinking of something blue…) or asking them to pick out certain color crayons or markers. (Can you find me a red marker...?) Next month our focus will be turned to the different holidays that are creeping up on us too quickly. We will be touching briefly on Kwanza, Hanukkah, and Christmas. We are also working on picking up our toys when we are finished or before we take out another toy. Having them help with clean up at home will help to reinforce what they are learning at school.
Reminders
- Please remember to label ALL of your child’s clothing, including boots hats and gloves.
- Please update the change of clothes in your child’s bag. Make sure the clothes are appropriate for the cold weather, labeled, and that they haven’t outgrown them!
- Please remember to check your child’s backpack each day. Talking about what they have done in school is another great way to reinforce what they have learned. Along with their art work, we also send paperwork and other reminders from school (book orders, news letters etc.).
- If you haven’t done so already, please remember to send a family photo for our family tree.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
There will be a sign up sheet in our room for parent teacher conferences. This is an opportunity for you to voice any feelings, questions, or concerns you may have. There are limited times available but other arrangements can be made.
