Pre-Kindergarten Newsletter - January, 2008
As we said goodbye to 2007, we celebrated the holidays with a sundae party. Thank you for sending in special treats and toppings! The children worked hard on their holiday cards and gifts as our focus during December was on the joy of "giving". We spent time learning about our family traditions and the way in which we each celebrate the season. We welcomed 2008 with pennants and crowns to celebrate the New Year.
A Warm Welcome
January has brought us two new classmates; Yasmin and Mustafa. We are so happy to have new friends at Happy Hollow!!
Thank You
Our "Toys for Tots" drive was a huge success and the children loved having the Marines pick up your generous donations!
Animals in Winter
With the winter weather upon us, we are beginning to talk about what our animal friends do to survive the winter. We have been discussing animals that hibernate, migrate or adapt to the changing weather.
Artic and Antartica
The Pre-K is about to journey to the Arctic and Antarctica. The children will explore the power of magnets before traveling to the north and south poles. We will then focus our attention on different animals that are found in both regions.
Dates to Remember
There is no school on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
