Preserving the Happy Hollow School Neighborhood
Traffic, Safety and Our Neighborhood
Happy Hollow School faculty, staff, students and families greatly appreciate our environment and our long history in our Framingham community. It is essential that we all do our very best to insure the safety of our children, our neighbors and our neighbors' children. With this in mind please respect the drop off and pick up rules strongly suggested and enforced by the Framingham Police and insisted upon by all members of the Happy Hollow School family.
Paramount Practice - Safety
Please do not make any u-turns on Oaks Road and do not turn around in our neighbors' driveways. We are part of a densely populated and pleasant neighborhood where many children live. We are also nearby to several large public schools whose students are frequently walking our sidewalks. While safety is important enough a reason to follow this rule, returning the respect and support our neighbors have shown Happy Hollow for more than fifty years, mandates that we respect their private property and safety concerns.
Parents are expected to bring their child into the child's classroom for at least the first week. After that teachers will be on our driveway-end to receive your child and take him to the classroom for arrivals starting at 8:30. This method has proven beneficial to the starting of the child's day at Happy Hollow. Please drive up on the School's side (Never on the opposite side as per police mandate), and the teachers will greet and receive your child. Do not, please, do not drive in the driveway!
The same arrangement is followed for the a.m. and p.m. pickups at 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Parents using the after¬school program are requested to park on the street and go to the Lower School to pick up their children.
Drop Off and Pick Up Rules
- Only allow your child to exit or enter your car on the sidewalk side of the car.
- No child should ever cross the street at anytime.
- Once you have dropped off your child, please continue straight ahead (north) on Oaks Road.
- At the stop sign, continue straight for route 9, turn left and left again to return to Warren Road, or turn right for the Concord Street area.
